Company law support online

We specialise in supporting clients in relation to aspects of Company Law from two perspectives:

Accounting

As Chartered Accountants a large proportion of our work focuses on the preparation of accounts for all types of companies and enterprises across a range of sectors. We advise UK companies and where relevant their overseas subsidiaries and UK based subsidiaries of overseas parent companies. We are Registered Auditors and report under UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (UK GAAP) and where appropriate International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

In this respect our knowledge of Company Law and the related accounting and financial reporting legislation is required to be of the highest standard.

HM Revenue & Customs is mandated by the UK Government not only to deal effectively with tax evasion but to quash the more lucrative tax avoidance schemes currently existing within the boundaries of the UK. In the words of Gordon Brown and reiterated by his successor Alastair Darling the Government want to ensure that everyone pays the "correct amount of tax" and the current Chancellor has continued the policies originated by his predecessor in creating initiatives for HM Revenue & Customs to pursue with vigour taxpayers who fall foul of this!

There are severe penalties for non compliance with tax legislation. The self assessment regime can hide problems for many years until a simple enquiry discovers what may have been an unintentional error.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of Accounting or taxation then please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Company Administration

Company legislation dictates how companies are legally administered. Failure to correctly deal with any aspect of your company's statutory obligations can at best be penalised financially or at worst mean that the transaction(s) are invalid. In certain circumstances this can make the Director(s) personally liable either to the company's shareholders or to external parties or both. The world is now a very litigious place and the growth by certain sections of the legal profession in encouraging claims by injured parties has increased the annual payout for these types of claims. Especially for Directors ignorance is no defence.

Our support in relation to the provision of Company administrative law runs in parallel with the provision of advice in connection with Company accounting.

If you have any questions regarding the legal and statutory obligations that you believe could affect you then please do not hesitate to contact us.
